About Meri
I have lived in both the United States and Mexico, and it was during my time abroad that I discovered my passion for language teaching. I have been teaching languages since 2017, and I also hold a professional language teaching certificate.
Over the years, I have helped many students through the process of relocating to Finland, both before and after their move. My students appreciate that, in addition to learning the language, they gain valuable insights into Finnish culture, society, and everyday life. I strive to make my lessons engaging, practical, and flexible, adapting them to each student's individual goals and needs.

I have 9 years of experience teaching Finnish and English to learners of all ages.
In my lessons, besides the textbook and other materials I emphasize speaking Finnish from the very beginning. I also incorporate news articles, current events, and games etc into my teaching.
My students appreciate my patience and clear teaching style. My conversation-focused approach helps learners develop their Finnish language skills quickly and in a practical way.
