About Sam
Originally from the UK, I lived in France for over 10 years, which has conferred me a remarkable proficiency in both French and English.
During my studies in Brussels, Belgium, I have tutored a French-speaking year 10 student in English, which has led him to successfully pass his exam. His family were extremely satisfied.
Having moved back to the UK in 2024 to work in sales and customer service, I am now eager to try the reverse and teach French to English-speaking students!
I spend my free time reading, writing, swimming and weight-lifting.

Do you, or does your child, need help with French homework or preparing for an exam? Are you, or is your child, a total beginner and require a complete, rigorous teaching of French grammar, vocabulary, and spellings? Then my lessons are for you. French may seem complicated and convoluted, but don’t worry; if I can get it right, anyone can!
Here’s what you can typically expect from a lesson with me:
- Grammar: the correct way to arrange words in a sentence
- Vocabulary: an objective of 10 to 15 new words per lesson, applied in context
- Spellings: rigorous teaching of the correct arrangement of letters, including accents
- Conversation of varying complexity depending on your level.
Ultimately, my lessons can be tailored to match the student’s requirements. Lessons can last up to 2 hours, depending on the student's needs.
I have always been praised by my teachers and my peers for my outstanding proficiency of French spellings in particular, and always aim for 100% exactitude.
I favour in-person, pen and paper teaching over digital. To that effect, I will provide the student with a pen, an A4 textbook for lessons, and an A5 vocabulary booklet.
