My approach to tutoring
My approach to tutoring is friendly, patient and student-focused. I believe that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to their individual needs, level and goals.
I like to begin by identifying what the student already understands and where they need support. I then break down difficult topics into smaller, easy-to-understand sections and use clear explanations, examples, and questions to build their confidence. I also encourage students to participate actively rather than simply listening, using practice questions, discussions and exam-style exercises where appropriate.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, although I am happy to adapt the length depending on the student's age, subject and needs.
As a university student studying International Relations, I have experience helping other students understand difficult topics, prepare for exams and organise their revision. My own experience of studying for GCSEs and A-levels has also given me a good understanding of what students need when preparing for exams.
My lessons are primarily aimed at GCSE and younger secondary school students, although I am also happy to work with students at other levels, depending on the subject. I can help with both general understanding and exam preparation, including essay structure, revision techniques and practice questions.
My main goal is to make lessons clear, engaging and useful, while helping students become more confident and independent in their learning.
