About Ruth
Hi! I’m a native Italian speaker with a degree in Modern Languages, where I studied French and Spanish. I’ve also spent six months living in France and six months working in a five-star hotel in the Canary Islands, using Spanish every day—so I understand how languages are used in real life, not just in textbooks!
I have experience teaching French and Spanish to students aged 12–18, as well as younger learners from Year 2 to Year 6. I enjoy working with different age groups and always adapt my lessons to suit each student.
I love travelling and meeting new people, which is why I’m passionate about helping others learn languages in a practical and enjoyable way. I can help you with speaking, writing, revision, homework, or exam preparation.
My goal is to make you feel confident and comfortable using the language—whether that’s for school, work, or everyday conversations.

I use a communicative and interactive approach, encouraging students to speak as much as possible from the beginning. Lessons are structured but flexible, combining conversation practice, grammar reinforcement, vocabulary building, and listening exercises. I also incorporate real-life materials such as articles, dialogues, and situational role-plays to make learning more natural and engaging. For exam students, I focus on exam technique, mark schemes, and targeted practice to improve results efficiently.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes, although longer sessions (90 minutes) can be arranged depending on the student’s goals and workload.
