About Victoria

As a native Mandarin speaker and certified teacher with a background in education, I bring a warm, structured, and professional approach to every lesson. I hold a Master’s degree from University College London and a Bachelor's degree from a top Chinese university, with over five years of teaching, writing, and mentoring experience. My work as a published writer—honoured by national writers' associations—has helped me develop a strong sense of language and cultural nuance, which I integrate into my Mandarin lessons. Whether you're a beginner or preparing for advanced exams, I aim to create a learning environment that is both supportive and intellectually engaging. My lessons are tailored to your goals and learning style, and I take pride in helping students of all ages gain confidence and real-life communication skills. Professional, patient, and passionate about education, I’m here to help you succeed.

About the lesson

Hi, I’m Vicky, a native Mandarin speaker, certified teacher, and published author whose work has received multiple awards from national writers’ associations. I offer engaging, personalised Chinese lessons for learners of all ages and levels. Whether you're a complete beginner, preparing for HSK or GCSE, or looking to improve your fluency for travel, work, or cultural interest, I tailor each lesson to suit your goals and pace. My teaching style combines interactive methods, real-world context, and creative language use. I draw on my background as a writer to help students not only speak Mandarin confidently but also express themselves with clarity and nuance. Lessons are typically 60 minutes, and I work with both children and adults. Whether you're learning Mandarin for the first time or looking to deepen your skills, I’m here to support your journey with structure, encouragement, and cultural insight.
