About Yabing
I’m a native Mandarin speaker with extensive international business experience across strategy consulting, B2B technology, partnerships and commercial strategy. I have lived, studied and worked in both China and the UK, and have spent many years working in international and multicultural environments.
I hold an Executive MBA from London Business School and have worked with professionals and organisations across different industries and countries. My career has involved frequent communication with people from different cultural and professional backgrounds, giving me a strong understanding of both Chinese and British communication styles and business culture.
I enjoy helping people become more confident communicating in Mandarin, particularly when they want to use Chinese in real-life situations rather than simply learn from a textbook. Whether you are starting from scratch, looking to improve your conversational fluency, preparing for a trip to China, or learning Chinese for work, I will tailor our lessons to your level, goals and interests.
My teaching style is friendly, practical and encouraging. I believe the best way to learn a language is to use it regularly in a relaxed environment, make mistakes without worrying about them, and gradually build confidence through real conversations.
Outside of work, I enjoy running marathons, playing piano, skiing, scuba diving, travelling and exploring food from different cultures. I’m also a parent, so I understand the challenge of fitting learning into a busy life. I aim to make every lesson focused, useful and enjoyable.

I have lived and worked in both China and the UK and have many years of experience communicating across Chinese and British business and cultural environments.
I specialise in practical Mandarin rather than textbook-only learning. Lessons can focus on everyday conversation, pronunciation, fluency, business Chinese, workplace communication, travel, or simply building confidence speaking Mandarin.
For professionals, I can also tailor lessons to real business situations such as meetings, introductions, presentations, networking and working with Chinese clients or colleagues.
My teaching style is relaxed, practical and personalised. I adapt each lesson to your level and objectives, with plenty of conversation and real-life examples.
Whether you're starting from zero or already speak some Mandarin and want to become more fluent and natural, I can help you turn your existing knowledge into confident, usable Chinese.
