About Veronika
Hi, I'm Veronika! I'm based in Leeds, in the UK, and I'm a native English and Russian speaker.
I actually moved to England when I was six years old with almost no English at all — so I really do know what it's like to be completely lost in a new language.
That's a big part of why I love teaching: I remember exactly what helped me, and what didn't - which shapes how patient and encouraging I try to be as a teacher.
Whether you want to build confidence in everyday conversation, prepare for something specific, or just practise speaking without judgement — I'd love to help.

Russian
I focus on practical, conversation-first learning rather than heavy grammar drilling — my goal is to get you speaking and understanding real, everyday language as quickly as possible, then build accuracy on top of that. Lessons are built around your specific goals, whether that's everyday conversation, travel, family connections, or exam preparation, and I regularly check in to make sure things are actually landing before moving on, rather than just working through a script.
Because Russian is my native language and I also understand its closest relatives (Ukrainian, Belarusian, and to a lesser extent Polish, Bulgarian and others), I can help you spot useful patterns and shortcuts if you're coming from a related language background.
I typically teach 45–60 minute sessions — long enough to properly get into a topic without losing focus, especially for beginners.
