About Sheyla
Hi! I’m Sheyla, a native Spanish speaker living in Canada with a strong passion for languages, communication, and teaching.
I have many years of experience teaching and explaining different subjects, and I’ve learned how to make complex ideas easier to understand while adapting to each student's needs and learning style. I bring that same approach to my Spanish lessons.
As a native speaker, I can help you develop not only your grammar and vocabulary, but also the natural expressions, pronunciation, and conversational skills that make Spanish feel more authentic.
I’m patient, friendly, and genuinely enjoy seeing students become more confident as they progress. Whether you are starting from scratch or already speak some Spanish, I will create a comfortable environment where you can ask questions, practice freely, and learn at your own pace.

My approach to teaching Spanish is simple: learn by using the language, not just by studying it. As a native Spanish speaker, I focus especially on helping students become comfortable speaking and understanding Spanish in real-life situations.
I adapt each lesson to the student's level, goals, interests, and learning style. We can work on conversation, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, listening comprehension, or a combination of these. I believe mistakes are an important part of learning, so I create a relaxed and supportive environment where you can practice without feeling afraid of getting something wrong.
What does a typical lesson look like?
We usually begin with a short conversation to warm up and review what we have been working on. Then, depending on your goals, we might introduce new vocabulary or a grammar concept and practice it through conversation and practical examples. A large part of the lesson is dedicated to speaking Spanish, because my goal is for you to actually use what you learn.
I can also correct your mistakes during the conversation, explain why something is said a certain way, and give you useful expressions that native speakers actually use.
What sets me apart?
I have many years of teaching experience in different subjects, and I genuinely enjoy explaining things and helping people learn. I am also passionate about languages myself, so I understand the challenges that come with learning a new language.
Because I live in Canada, I also understand the experience of communicating across languages and cultures. My goal is not simply to teach you Spanish, but to help you feel confident using Spanish with real people.
