About Jani
Hi! As a native Spanish speaker, I have a deep, natural connection to the language. I recently channeled that passion into the AP Spanish Literature and Culture exam, earning a top score of a 5. Because I just finished the class myself, I know exactly what it takes to balance the massive reading list, decode complex historical vocabulary, and ace the essays. Being a peer tutor who is also a native speaker gives my students a unique advantage. I don't just translate the words; I help students truly understand the cultural nuances, historical contexts, and poetic rhythms of the texts. In our sessions, we will focus on three key pillars: Navigating Old & Complex Spanish: Since I am a native speaker, I can easily guide students through the tricky, archaic Spanish found in medieval and Golden Age texts like El Conde Lucanor or Don Quijote, making them easy to digest.Literary Devices (Términos Literarios): We will master essential terms like hipérbaton, sinalefa, and in media res using active recall so students can confidently use them to earn maximum points on essays. FRQ Strategy & Rubric Hacking: We will practice writing and scoring the four Free Response Questions (Text Explanation, Text/Art Comparison, Authors Comparison, and Single-Text Analysis) so there are zero surprises on exam day.
