About Amalia
I am Amalia, a native Spanish teacher with a degree in Hispanic Philology from the University of Havana, specialising in Hispano-American Literature. Originally from Cuba, I lived in Madrid for a few years and am currently based in Valencia, Spain. Among other things, I love reading, dancing, and continuously learning.
I truly enjoy teaching my language because I love seeing how, step by step, people from different cultures begin to understand one another. Additionally, I am passionate about etymology and the history of the language, so if you are interested, I can teach you not only "how" things are said, but also "why" they are said that way.
Above all, it is essential to me that my students feel comfortable. I strive to make our lessons a safe space where making mistakes or asking questions is a natural part of the learning process, rather than a source of insecurity or fear.
So, if you are looking for an approachable and committed teacher, I am here for you. It will be a pleasure to meet you! Shall we get started?

My lessons are completely tailored to your needs and goals. Whether you need to learn Spanish to prepare for an exam or want to speak and understand it for pure pleasure, I am here to help.
I offer individual, one-to-one online lessons covering all levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners.
As a general rule, I like to speak as much Spanish as possible right from the very first lesson because, in my experience, it is the most dynamic and fastest way to learn a language. Additionally, I recommend combining conversation, grammar, vocabulary, and practical activities during our sessions to make your learning experience even more effective and well-rounded.
