About Alejandro

Hi, I'm Alejandro – a marketer by day, Spanish tutor by passion, and someone who believes learning should feel as fun and natural as hanging out with friends. I've built my career in Mexico City and Vancouver, working on marketing strategies, building brands, and connecting with people across industries and cultures.

When I’m not working on campaigns, you’ll probably find me skiing, swimming, or at the gym – staying active keeps me sane. I also love spending time with friends, whether it’s a laid-back dinner or something more spontaneous. My partner Dan and I share our home with Nacho, our Boston Terrier, who’s basically the boss of the house.

As a tutor, I like to keep things practical, fun, and easy to apply. Whether you’re just starting out or brushing up your Spanish, I focus on real conversations and cultural insights that make learning feel natural. It’s more like chatting with a friend who can help you pick up the language (and happens to know a thing or two about marketing).

I’m excited to help you get comfortable speaking Spanish – we’ll take it at your pace and make sure it’s something you actually enjoy!

My Approach as a Spanish Tutor

I believe that learning a language should be interactive, fun, and tailored to the student's individual goals and learning style. My teaching methodology focuses on real-life conversations, cultural immersion, and practical exercises that make Spanish feel natural and relevant. Whether you're preparing for travel, improving your grades, or seeking fluency for professional reasons, I create a supportive environment where students feel confident to express themselves.

Teaching Methodology and Techniques
I use a mix of communicative language teaching (CLT) and task-based learning. This means lessons are centered around speaking, listening, and engaging with the language in real contexts, rather than just memorizing vocabulary and grammar rules. I incorporate role-playing, interactive games, and multimedia resources to keep lessons fresh and engaging.

A Typical Lesson Plan:

Warm-up – Quick review or casual conversation to ease into Spanish.
Main Lesson Focus – This could be a themed topic (travel, dining, work), grammar point, or vocabulary expansion through interactive activities.
Practice and Application – Role-play scenarios, listening to audio clips, or discussing short texts.
Wrap-up and Q&A – Reflect on the lesson and outline key takeaways, with optional homework or practice exercises.

What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor:
I bring years of experience in marketing and communications, which enhances my ability to teach Spanish in a clear, relatable, and engaging way. I integrate Latin American culture, slang, and idiomatic expressions, helping students not just learn the language but truly connect with it. My personalized approach ensures that each student progresses at their own pace, with lesson plans adjusted to their specific goals and interests.

Who the Lessons Are For

My lessons are designed for:

Beginners looking to develop basic conversational skills.
Intermediate students aiming to refine their grammar and expand vocabulary.
Advanced learners needing help with professional or academic Spanish.
Travelers or professionals wanting practical, real-world Spanish for day-to-day use.

Whether you're a high school student, a working professional, or just passionate about languages, I’m here to make the learning journey enjoyable and effective.
