About Maria
I am a former student of English and Russian Philology who's recently discovered what fun it is to teach my own native language. I have helped people learn or improve their Romanian before, informally, through conversation, but since I started working with my first "real" student I realized I enjoy the linguistic challenge of explaining everything in more structured way.

So I have knowledge in linguistics and understand quite a lot about languages whether I speak them or not. This helps me explain things in the terms of your native or second language which is sometimes the most straightforward way one comes to get it or to remember stuff, especially in the beginning. I don’t follow a particular textbook, I like to come up with my own examples and exercises, but I make use of all the resources I find helpful, including apps for learning/practising vocabulary. As you're past total beginner level (first 100 words or so) I will be using Romanian more as "language of instruction."
