About Ann

I'm Ann, 22, from Nyeri, Kenya. Swahili is my mother tongue and I use it every day at home, in market, with friends.

I want to teach because I love our language and I see many mzungu and visitors struggle with fake book Swahili that Kenyans don't use. I want to teach them the real Swahili that makes Kenyans smile and say "this one knows!"

I am patient, friendly and respectful. I understand it is hard to learn a new language. I will help you step by step until you are confident.

About the lesson

I teach REAL Kenyan Swahili you use every day, not book Swahili. My lessons are on WhatsApp video or Zoom. You will learn real greetings like Mambo, Poa, Sasa, Shikamoo, market Swahili to bargain, food, numbers, and real Sheng Kenyans use. I make you speak from day one. No boring grammar. I send notes after class. You can use what you learn in Nairobi the same day.
