About Tuana
I'm a native Turkish speaker, a University of Exeter graduate, and currently an MA student in International Affairs at King's College London. I sat GCSE and A-Level Turkish myself, achieving a grade 9 and an A*, and alongside my studies I spent three years teaching English to learners from many different backgrounds, so I understand both the language and how to teach it patiently, building confidence step by step and adapting to how each person actually learns.
What I care about most is that you leave each session clearer and more confident than you arrived. I'm patient, well organised, and genuinely invested in your progress, and I want lessons to feel encouraging rather than intimidating. Whether you're a complete beginner, preparing for an exam, or returning to a language you already have roots in, you can expect me to be prepared, reliable, and fully focused on helping you improve.

I teach Turkish the way it's actually used, not just from a textbook. As a native speaker, I focus on getting you speaking early and building real conversational confidence alongside the grammar and vocabulary that hold it together. For beginners, that means a clear, patient foundation in pronunciation and sentence structure; for more advanced learners, it means fluency, nuance, and the natural phrasing you only really pick up from a native speaker. Having sat GCSE and A-Level Turkish myself, achieving a grade 9 and an A*, I also know the exams from the inside and can help students preparing for them with the specific structure and technique they're marked on. I adapt entirely to your goal, whether that's an exam, travel, family and heritage, work, or simply learning a beautiful language from scratch.
Lessons usually run 60 minutes and are shaped around what you want from them, and I keep the atmosphere relaxed and encouraging, because people learn languages far faster when they're not afraid to make mistakes. They suit all levels and all ages, from complete beginners to GCSE and A-Level students to those brushing up or pushing towards fluency, so whether you're preparing for an exam, reconnecting with Turkish heritage, or starting with no background at all, you're equally welcome.
