Neil - Putney Bridge - Guitar

I'm a friendly, dedicated guitar and music theory teacher based in Putney.

I have a BA(Hons) Degree in Music with Instrumental Teaching.

- How much do you charge?

I charge £30 per hour for 1-1 lessons. 30 minute lessons can be arranged at a cost of £18. I always provide one free consultation lesson as I know finding the right teacher is essential. Please feel free to contact me with inquiries for group lessons or special circumstances.

- Where do you teach?

I live in Fulham, London. I teach at students homes although other arrangements can be made if this is not possible. I am able to travel to Wimbledon, Richmond, Clapham, SW London, SE London, West London and West Central London and similar areas. - When are you available?

I am very flexible and will try to make myself available to suit the needs of the student.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

I teach students of any age. I can teach Guitar from Beginner-Advanced Level (Postgraduate Level) Jazz Theory/Composition from Beginner-Advanced Level (Postgraduate Level) Bass Guitar from Beginner-Advanced Level (Postgraduate Level).

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?

I can prepare students for exams in both performance and theory should they wish to take them.

- Do you have a personal message for students?

The key factor of learning to play an instrument is enjoyment, it should be fun! It is a skill that will stay with you all of your life, and in return for the practice, dedication and patience it takes to learn an instrument, the rewards will be endless. My years of teaching experience has shown me that everybody learns differently. Therefore I tailor my lessons to suit each individual student so that they will get out of it what they want, and have fun doing so!

As a freelance guitarist I have experience working in many different musical environments and styles. I have played in jazz duo's and quartets in London and the south of England, as well as function bands and pit bands across the south of England. Neil is a patient and thoughtful teacher. He makes a point of finding pieces of music that appeal to our daughter and we are delighted with the progress she is making under his guidance.

Every time I heard a good guitarist I would promise myself to dust off my guitar and play again. This did not happen. I decided to engage a guitar teacher and to my delight, Neil came over to my house and inspired me to learn and play again. Neil's teaching skill and musical talent has given me a real appreciation of the guitar, my instrument will never gather dust again.
