About Rosie
Hello! My name is Rosie, and I’m looking to tutor primary-age children in a variety of subjects, particularly maths, phonics and literacy, science, humanities and French. As a neurodivergent person myself, I have a particular interest in supporting children with additional needs including autism, ADHD, dyslexia and dyscalculia. I have an undergraduate degree from Cambridge in Education with Medieval French (yes, really!), an MA from UCL in Special and Inclusive Education and an MSc in Psychology from the University of Roehampton (distance learning). I spent six years as a teaching assistant with a particular focus on those with additional needs and/or English as an additional language. As of March 2025 I teach art in a local studio and enjoy bringing this creativity to my tutoring sessions.

Every child and young person is unique, so no two lessons will ever be the same. I am conscious of the fact that needs and capabilities can fluctuate frequently so am very flexible in adapting my approach to meet clients where they’re at in any given moment in time. I am confident supporting children and young people academically up to and including the end of KS3 (year 9), and can teach some GCSE and A-level subjects on request. My main skill in this area, however, is my lived experience as a neurodivergent person navigating the school system as a child and as a member of staff. I can relate to clients from a perspective of genuine understanding and empathy, because I’ve been there myself. I am adept at suggesting creative solutions to problems based on what has worked for me and what has worked for other people with similar experiences. I also believe that it is extremely important to help those with additional needs to identify and nurture their strengths in addition to working on things they find difficult. This builds self-confidence, self-esteem and self-efficacy, thus helping individuals to be the best possible versions of themselves.
