About Marco

I have trained and qualified from Music Conservatoires in Italy and the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. I have decades of experience teaching piano and Music Theory, with many students who successfully passed ABRSM exams (mostly with Distinction), from Grade 1 to LRSM Diploma in Piano Performance. I teach from my home in the M14 area, very close to Whitworth Park. I have a grand piano and a digital piano. I do not teach via Webcam, It is best to learn instruments face-to-face. My fee is £25 per hour.

About the lesson

Ciao!! My name is Marco. I am looking to teach adult students, you may say that I am on a MISSION to dispel the myth that only if you start very young can you achieve a high/professional level. This simply isn't true! As long as you are passionate, you can start or resume piano lessons at any age, I have methods to help you achieve a very high standard of playing. Of course you may just want to learn for fun, at a leisurely pace, and that's fine, no pressure! However, if you may want to finally achieve that Grade 8 certificate, or you already have Grade 8 and would like to achieve a higher Diploma, I can certainly help.

Fabulous start! Only two lessons and Mathew is already on Grade 1! Great musical ear and strong fingers, Mathew is a very quick learner. I enjoy pushing him, we'll see how far I can push him. I can't wait for the next lesson!

Keenan is very enthusiastic and has a super musical ear!
He also has a piano at home, so will be able to progress quickly. Who knows, in a few months Keenan may be playing the advanced version of Interstellar!

Perfect! Marco is a great tutor and immediately makes you feel at ease. He is extremely passionate and knowledgeable about the piano and my first lesson was a joy. He was able to challenge me in areas that I find difficult while simultaneously making it fun and interesting.

Wow! An absolute prodigy!!
Lily can play advanced music, Grade 6-7 level and she is self-taught! A unique talent! I am confident she will have the discipline to develop Sight Reading and Scales, which are a little below Grade 6 level, and then progress further with her Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky.
A very natural talent, well done!

Perfect! Marco is a highly-skilled piano tutor and was able to gauge my proficiency within the first lesson by steadily increasing the difficulty of exercises. I'd say I was a beginner at the piano but love music and learn mostly though listening. It had been a while since I had to read music so had forgotten a bit of the theory, but it all came flooding back. I will be continuing my lessons with Marco and look forward to the challenge of one day mastering Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata...after mastering scales (fun for some!)

Wow! What a Natural! Even without having a piano Yuchen is already at Grade 1 level. Natural musical ear, natural sense of rhythm, very musically sensitive and expressive and strong fingers. What more can you ask for? A perfect student, a very promising start!

Very expressive, really musical playing and a natural musical ear, which nobody can teach you to have! Deborah is rather advanced already, certainly above Grade 6. Nice to be working on Chopin Nocturnes instead of basic hand position and beginners' exercises!
