As a non-native English speaker, I can empathise with learners and communicate and explain grammar issues at different levels. By using these skills, I hope students will perceive me as a good teacher. I have been learning English as a second language since secondary school. I had many teachers with very different approaches to teaching. Some teachers emphasised grammar only and did not encourage students to speak freely. They were correcting errors too often that is I believe is a recipe for motivation loss. I prefer someone who makes lessons exciting and helping and sensitively corrects them.
