Super Tutor

Nick is one of our best Maths tutors. They have a high-quality profile, verified qualifications, a quick response time, and great reviews from students!

About Nick

I have a mathematical BSc with 1st class hons. I have also studied philosophy and psychology at degree level. And I have a certificate in counselling skills.

I have a recent DBS certificate, enhanced for working with children.

I have a wide variety of experience in education and youth work. This includes teaching in a centre for students whose schooling had broken down. I have provided private tuition ranging from KS3 maths up to maths help for students taking science degrees.

My coaching approach encourages clients to reflect on and master mathematics.

I also provide reflective coaching for non-academic goals.

About the lesson

I provide one-to-one and small group coaching. I help students develop understanding, technique and confidence. I respond intelligently to individual students. I support students in developing an approach to studying that works well for them, which they can extend as they progress.

I am happy to work with students doing GCSE maths, embarking on an A Level, or doing the maths component of functional skills. Please ask about other qualifications and subjects.

The coaching can take place at any suitable, agreed location in West Kent, including Sevenoaks, Tonbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Paddock Wood or Edenbridge. This could be at the student's home. A central location in Tunbridge Wells is available.

I coach in the afternoon and evening, Monday to Saturday. Other times may be possible. Please ask about current availability.

My standard tuition rate for GCSE maths is £33 per hour.

An initial consultation of up to 40 minutes is free and provides a chance to explore what would be helpful. If we decide to proceed further, we will agree on general principles for working together and consider how to make good use of a first full lesson. There is no obligation to proceed at any stage.

I look forward to hearing from you and considering how I can help you achieve your objectives.

Student - GCSE maths

I found that [Nick] was able to develop my ability to understand mathematics that I had not previously been able to at school. As a result, I achieved an A grade at GCSE, having been predicted a C. This was an excellent outcome for me and one that was unexpected prior to starting personal tutor sessions.

Parent - Year 9

My son needed confidence and more one to one to discuss any confusions he had, while classes are so big, it can be difficult to have the teacher's focus. Nick has been very supportive and my son has felt the lessons very helpful. Already within the year, my son has gone up a class and I believe this is due to Nick's tutoring.

I certainly recommend Nick to anyone whose child needs the added support and confidence in Maths.
