About Abdul
I have been a photographer for over 20 years, working across landscape, street and portrait photography and earning national and international recognition for my work along the way. I hold a Certificate of Graduation in Professional Photography from the New York Institute of Photography and completed an intensive masterclass under acclaimed photojournalist GMB Akash. My work has taken me across the world, from Australia to Africa, North America, India and South Asia, capturing beautiful moments and diverse cultures through my lens along the way. This global experience has shaped a versatile eye and a deep appreciation for light, place and human emotion, all of which I bring into how I teach. My approach is calm, structured and genuinely tailored to each student, whether you're picking up a camera for the first time or refining a skill you already love. I'm committed to helping you grow with confidence, one lesson at a time.

From camera to final edit, I teach the complete photography workflow, including hands-on Lightroom training to help you process and elevate your images like a professional. My first lesson is always an informal chat about your goals, whether that's building a portfolio, mastering your camera, or simply seeing the world differently. From there, I tailor sessions around landscape, street or portrait photography, covering camera settings, composition, light and editing techniques, alongside honest feedback on your work. This draws on over 20 years in the field and formal training through the New York Institute of Photography and photojournalist GMB Akash's masterclass. Lessons typically run one hour, with flexibility for longer workshop-style sessions. I teach all levels and ages, from complete beginners to hobbyists looking to sharpen their eye. I'm happy to meet at your home or a public location, and can travel up to 20km.
