About Oliver
I’ve been teaching Drum Kit and Percussion for over 10 years from absolute beginners to professionals , as well as preparing students successfully for university and music college entrance auditions. My teaching style is centred around teaching you how to teach yourself - establishing effective practice methods, and examining the building blocks of drumming in great detail rather than a focus on specific pieces and songs (although this does come into it!). I am happy to work on both graded material and ungraded material, especially if you start lessons with me when you’ve already stared moving up the grades ladder. But even if you’re approaching Grade 8 I am still keen to make sure you keep your horizons broad and take as much music on board as possible, and not limit yourself to the three pieces you’re learning for your exam! I recently self--published my first instructional book called “Modern Method For Drums,” which is frequently use in my own teaching. I teach online only, unless you are in the immediate area of Richmond, London (or surrounding). I look forward to hearing from you!
