About Adrian
After graduating with a music degree from Goldsmiths College, University of London, the first part of my professional life was spent writing a ton of music in different styles for TV, before switching in 2005 to a high-profile career in music for theatre, including 'War Horse', 'Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time', 'Angels in America', 'Coram Boy' and others. I have written and produced the music for several high-profile productions at the National Theatre and on Broadway, and they've gained me a Tony nomination and an Olivier Award.
I'm also a BBC Proms-commissioned orchestral and chamber music composer.
I'm uniquely placed to - and enthusiastic about - sharing my experience with others who are keen to learn.
About the lesson

In our lessons, I'd be focussed always on what you want to achieve as a composer and orchestrator, while making sure to guide you in the essential techniques and principles of musical line, foreground and background planes, harmony, voice-leading and so on.. and if you're producing your own music on DAWs, to help you get the best out of those environments too.
If you're writing for theatre or for film, I'll guide you in the best approaches to developing a score for these mediums, and how to work with other people in the creative team.
I'm probably best-suited as a tutor to students who already have at least some music theory under their belt, as this will allow our lessons to progress faster.
