About Matei
ONLY AVAILABLE FROM JUL 15, but do reach out earlier if emergency I'm a Senior Software Engineer working as self-employed for more than 10 years, solving challenging projects such as smart multi-dialect SQL parsing/linting/completions, AI infrastructure for popular applications, and WebRTC/GStreamer interactions on custom hardware. 6 years ago I joined TopTal, the most exclusive consultancy for software engineers, whose interviews are roughly on par with Google's. In my younger years I competed in national Math Olympiads, both as solo and the ace of my team. I've now achieved my dream of spending half my days flying single-engine piston aircraft, and the other half teaching software engineering. I love a good programming challenge, and more than that I love watching people from not knowing how to solve one, to figuring it out!

I believe in learning by doing. Doing is 90% planning and 10% writing code, "doing" is "solving the problem".
We'll have a short introduction to unearth what you do and don't know, and establish what it is you're trying to achieve.
I will summarize what it is you need to learn to get to your goal, and build up from there, all at the pace you feel most comfortable with.
As an olympic mathematician, toptal contractor, and airplane captain, I've had a great share of non-trivial problems to not only solve, but to instruct teammates, colleagues/clients, and co-pilots on how to solve.
This makes me an ideal tutor for everyone, whether you have 0 experience, or whether you are a FAANG engineer trying to solve a specific problem.
