Ready to level up your singing and smash your grade exams? Whether you're aiming for Rockschool (RSL) or Trinity Rock & Pop grades, I offer focused, structured vocal lessons designed to help you: - Prepare for Grade 1–8 exams - Improve technique (breathing, tone, range, control) - Develop confidence in performance - Master your exam songs and technical exercises - Understand music theory and sight-singing Lessons are 60 minutes and structured as below:
1. Vocal Warm-Up & Technique (10–15 mins)
We begin with vocal warm-ups and technical exercises designed to: - Activate your voice safely - Improve breath control and support - Develop tone, pitch accuracy, and range - Strengthen key elements like agility, power, and resonance
2. Repertoire Work – Exam Songs (30–35 mins)
This is the core of your lesson. We'll focus on your chosen exam pieces, working on: - Interpretation and style (pop, rock, soul, indie, etc.) - Vocal phrasing, dynamics, and expression - Lyric delivery and emotional connection - Pitch, timing, diction, and articulation - Backing track or live accompaniment practice - Mock performances and examiner-style feedback We'll also discuss song choice strategy (if you haven’t selected pieces yet), based on your voice, strengths, and grading criteria.
3. Technical & Supporting Elements (5–10 mins)
Depending on your exam board and grade level, we’ll cover: - Rock School: Technical exercises (e.g. scales, arpeggios, stylistic elements) General musicianship - Trinity: Session skills (improvisation or playback) Aural skills and stylistic understanding We’ll break these down and practice regularly, so you’re not just memorising—but really understanding and owning the material.
4. Q&A / Progress Review / Homework (5 mins)
We’ll finish with a quick debrief: - What’s improved - What to work on before the next lesson - Resources or practice tracks sent to you - Answering any questions you have! You’ll leave with clear goals and structure for your personal practice.

Perfect! I was feeling a bit down in the dumps about my voice having sung lots in classical choirs and in contrast doing jazz songs. I really want to blend my voice and come up with a uniform (and pleasant sound). Bex spent a lot of time analysing my voice to sort out the problems I was facing, suggested good material to challenge my problems and has given me the confidence that what I want to achieve is feasible and the motivation to achieve it. A true professional, with a refreshing non judgmental, supportive approach. Brilliant for me as an adult learner!
- It was lovely meeting you this evening! I'm excited to help you with your voice and see how we can increase your back-catalogue of songs! Please leave me a review as well, and we can continue off-site :) Thanks!Rebecca's response :
