About Callum
I’ve been playing guitar for a little over 10 years, but I still remember the struggles of wrapping my head (and fingers) around the fretboard. I remember how frustrating it could be early on, hearing the music in your head but not being able to get it out of the instrument. I’m here to help players gain confidence and enjoyment in playing to keep them motivated and happy in their journey. Music is at the centre of my life, and I’m always excited to teach whatever genre you are into. Whether rock, pop, metal or indie/alternative, I’ve been there myself. My playing has gone through many phases, I’m currently getting into more of an alternative metal sound, but I spent years loving more acoustic driven indie music. In the past i've wrote music with a singer which has more of an alternative-pop feel, so I can absolutely teach guitar for other styles. Right now, I’m on summer break before heading back to university, where I play in two bands. This means I have plenty of free time. So if you have a hectic schedule or need lessons at odd hours, I’m happy to be flexible and work with what suits you best.

I am of the firm belief that learning guitar should be an enjoyable, engaging and rewarding process. My teaching approach focuses on making lessons fun and engaging, particularly by tailoring them to your musical tastes (I love to hear about what music people enjoy). Whether you’ve just picked up a guitar, or have been playing for a while, I’m here to guide you at your pace. I can help guitarists get comfortable with their instrument, whether they are starting with their first chords, are getting familiar with the fretboard, or want to learn to improvise and create their own solos or melodies. Together we can work on the techniques and skills to help you play the songs that excite you, ensuring you stay motivated and make real progress every session.
