Duration : 10, 20, 30 hrs - Price : £450.00 - Place : Rushmere Saint Andrew (IP4 5PQ)Hello, my name is Teacher Theo. I am teaching subjects like English Language, English Comprehension, English Skills, English Grammar, Academic Writing, Business English - helping you to achieve your academic goals in school - working with you in your own time in order to improve reading, writing, speaking and/or listening comprehension (understanding) skills.

My qualifications are a B.A. and Master Degree in Teaching English to students of Other Languages - B.A. and M.A.Ed.TESOL [US].

I am a licensed teacher and also a certified University of Cambridge International course teacher and invigilator for the following exams: KET, PET, SAT/CHECKPOINT, IGCSE, GCE A/AS level.

With 14 years international English primary teaching experience, I taught 7 years in Special English Program Schools in Asia (P1 to P6 classes) and three years at the IPS International School in Bangkok according to the British Curriculum.

I used the Let's Go textbook series (1 to 6) as part of my work in International Program and Language Schools creating an enjoyable individual and group learning experience for students at all levels.

This course is suitable for students who wish to establish and learn more English according to american focused English which the recordings and textbooks provide.

The teaching technique used is based on the Let's Go methodology whereby teacher and students follow a clearly defined Syllabus. The Syllabus (Program for each level) is part of every Let's Go textbook and is supported by flashcards, textbook and audio recordings.

Usually I discuss the course or lesson objectives at the beginning of each lesson. Together we summarize important outcomes of previous lessons and answer any remaining questions. I am consistently aiming to integrate important GRAMMAR into each lesson - simultaneously improving reading, writing, speaking and listening [comprehension, understanding] skills.

The lesson objectives will then be clearly defined at the beginning of each lesson.

Important is the pace in which each lesson is conducted. For all those students who do not learn well in groups and who would rather prefer individual teacher guidelines, I would recommend the private 1-1 lesson.

Usually the pace of each lesson will be set so that all 5 or 10 students will be able to follow and learn well.

Course setup

During the past 14 years of international teaching, I spent the first two years at a Bangkok based Language School, MELC where I taught various age groups and student levels using the Let's Go textbook series for students 5 to 13 years old. The youngest student was a very young learner [age 4 years old] and the oldest students was over 70 years old.

Each student studies at a different level and we used existing school textbooks or supportive material which I can create in order to achieve specific learning outcomes for the students improving speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.

My main objective for each course is to make certain that all students improve their English language skills - not necessarily to "finish" the textbook. There I would recommend each student group to opt for the 30 hrs course as it allows students and teacher to answer all relevant questions and to have enough time to complete additional practice.

As a University of Cambridge International course teacher and invigilator I worked in an International School which is also a University of Cambridge International Examination Center. Please note that language schools and private teachers such as myself can prepare you for some or all UOCI exams but the actual exams have to be taken at a Cambridge International Examination Center. They are computer or paper based.

If you are interested in individual lessons or group online lessons to prepare for any of the Cambridge International qualifications mentioned below, please send me an email inquiry, stating the number of students, UOCI exam and your preferred lesson time.

Cambridge International Programmes and qualifications are carefully designed to engage learners and to give them solid foundations to achieve high levels of academic and personal attainment. Examples:

Cambridge KET: This is a basic level qualification and a great exam to take if you're new to learning English. CEFR level A2; Computer or paper-based; 3 papers; Exam length: about 2 hours; Age: 7 to 12.

Cambridge PET: The English language exam that shows you have mastered basics. CEFR level B1; Computer or paper-based. 3 papers; Exam length: about 2 hours 20 minutes.

All of my students at the international school studied for either one or multiple Cambridge International exams which they all passed: KET, PET or SAT/ Checkpoint exams.
