As a tutor, I work with students to bring the best out of them. This means teaching at a pace that they feel comfortable with, building their confidence in one subject before moving on and always bringing in new and exciting challenges. Where possible I like to explain concepts with real life applications, so the student understands the usefulness of the subject.
I have over 4 years industrial experience in the automotive engineering sector with Jaguar Land Rover, along with a Masters in aerospace engineering. This experience allows me to shed light on the practical applications of the subjects I teach. This context improves engagement and clarity for the student.

Sep 16 – Mar 17 Skuuudle – Junior Developer
Skuuudle is a B2B company which serves clients by mining useful data from online competitors. Here I learnt Python on the job and wrote bespoke scripts to scrape data from websites into a spreadsheet, for a number of clients including restaurant chains, large retailers and electronics suppliers.
Consistently optimised and improved scripts to reduce runtime and memory demands.
Sep 15 – Sep 16 Jaguar Land Rover – Advanced EDS Engineer (Platform Leader)
Created the first Bill of Design to be officially released in the Electrical Centre of Competence.
The Bulkhead Bill of Design is a company-wide specification that incorporates EDS strategy, concepts, standards and lessons learnt targeting a key problem area (bulkhead zone). Key challenges included working across functions to agree a system solution and developing ideas from manufacturing, competitor data, physical experiments and consulting component experts.
I developed a new electrical architecture for the roof area (Roof Zone Module), with the aim of optimising the roof wiring and integrating existing ECUs to improve cost, weight and quality. This involved reverse engineering of competitor harnesses, creating system schematics with Visio and using existing circuits to construct business cases.
As the Advanced EDS lead for the D7a platform (Jaguar XE/XF/F-Pace), I managed pre-development contracts with our supplier. Under very limited timescales, I was able to bring together cross-functional teams through workshops whilst liaising with suppliers, to deliver the best possible outcome for the business.
Supported the delivery of high and medium voltage EDS for Hybrid programmes.
Sep 13 – Sep 15 Jaguar Land Rover – Graduate Development Programme
Diverse exposure to 5 key areas of the business outside of Electrical – Market Research, Vehicle Line Business Review, Manufacturing, Water and Dirt Management and Research.
Market Research: Organised a two-day team off-site including venues, activities, hotels and transport. Authored customer profiles and created a summary guide to the Chinese market. Gained insight from ethnographic interviews, conferences and car clinics for future vehicles.
Vehicle Line Business Review: Created business cases to increase profitability from scratch, working with purchasing, engineering and marketing to gather take-rates, fixed and variable costs. Made a one-pager template to pitch these in architecture meetings.
Manufacturing: Whilst under pressure to deliver targets for the launch of XE and F-Pace, I worked alongside suppliers to raise, track and fix EDS issues in a tight timeframe. Additionally, I spent two weeks working shifts on the line in Solihull installing cabin harnesses.
Water and Dirt Management: Developed a new test method, improving the reliability of wash-wipe test results using UV, through conducting lab experiments. Created a test procedure and research report for the new standard.
Research: Created technology roadmaps and helped design/setup tech demos for anticipated features.
Mar 13 – Jul 13 ITP Engines UK Ltd – Graduate Systems Engineer
The main task was understanding the systematic effects of recent design changes on the validity of previous aircraft engine tests for client Honeywell.
By understanding the requirements model and engine control system, I analysed the impact to each test in DOORS, whilst filtering out the least affected tests and documenting the results.

Jul 11 – Aug 11 Wuhan New Oriental School – Middle School Teacher
I taught oral English classes of 20-40 students of ages 12-18. Working under pressure to deliver lessons, I was given little preparation time and no training. With no curriculum, I had to improvise on a daily basis, brainstorming and preparing new material for each lesson. Despite this, I successfully engaged with the pupils and had very positive feedback by the end of term.

Led the stress analysis of skin penetrations for the Airbus A400M composite wing, using spreadsheets and Mathcad to do structural integrity calculations, whilst meeting set deadlines.
