About Matthew
Hi
My name is Matt. I studied at Southend High School for Boys grammar school and am now studying a four year Mathematical Physics degree with integrated Masters (joint honours) at the University of Nottingham, having been awarded their Sir Peter Mansfield High Achiever Scholarship. I plan to stay on and for my PhD as well.
I really enjoy sport, particularly rugby, but I also enjoy keeping fit in general. During my teen years I represented Essex in athletics competitions for a period of time. I'm also a keen musician, and particularly enjoy playing the acoustic guitar.
I enjoy teaching young people and tend to find I'm able to establish a really good rapport, partly because of being young myself, but also because I am a patient person with a cheerful dispostion. I love it when I help someone really get something they have been struggling with. I find that there's normally a way of helping someone make sense of something in a way they haven't tried before. And if I can get people to really enjoy maths and/or physics then all the better!
I'm happy to teach individuals or pairs if easier. You tell me what you want help with and I will join-up with you on Zoom (or similar).

Matthew has been so flexible and great in helping to teach my daughter and her friend who are going into their final year of GCSE's next year. During this whole lockdown, online tutoring is great.
