About Fiona
I graduated with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy from Brunel University in 2000. Since then I have worked in the NHS and in private practice and also have 11 years’ experience working as a specialist physiotherapist for the Royal Air Force and as team physiotherapist for Icarus FC, the RAF Officers’ football club. This work has involved the assessment and treatment of Armed Forces personnel with a diverse range of problems from sports and training niggles to disabling injuries sustained on Operations in Afghanistan and Iraq.
* Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP)
* Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered. This requires an active commitment to maintaining continuous professional development and to regularly updating knowledge based on latest research.
* Criminal Records Bureau checked
* First aid trained – Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals (including adult, child and infant CPR procedures)
My original and inspiring Dru Yoga teaching comes not only from my dedication to the spirit of yoga as a practice and way of life, but also from my grounded knowledge of the body, having trained as a Chartered Physiotherapist. As a physiotherapist, I bring to my Dru Yoga classes a rich knowledge of anatomy and biomechanics.
Yoga has been part of my life for many years and has helped me cope with life’s challenges. I passionately believe in its therapeutic benefits.
I am a truly holistic practitioner with the ability to combine my knowledge of ancient philosophies and yoga teachings with neuroscience and modern research into mind, physiology, biomechanics and anatomy. This gives a deep, holistic practice which can help on a physical, emotional and psychological level with health and well-being.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you to achieve the balance and joy that is your birthright.
My Yoga Teaching Qualifications include:

* Dru Meditation Teacher Training (200 hours)

Health issues?
Your age, level of fitness, health and flexibility make no difference to the benefits you can receive from a regular yoga practice. In fact, those who are struggling the most have the most to gain! As a Chartered Physiotherapist, I particularly enjoy working with those who have thought their age or physical disabilities would prevent them from ever trying yoga. Let me motivate and inspire you! Perhaps you suffer from chronic pain, fatigue, stress or anxiety. I will help you to view your body and mind holistically, bring balance into your daily life and find well-being.
I teach yoga with a focus on functional movement and alignment. You can be sure that everything you learn will be carefully selected for your specific needs and safe for your body too. I will challenge and support you, so that you will get the maximum benefit from our session together.
You can choose to enjoy the class alone or learn alongside your partner or 2 to 3 friends or family members.

Dru Yoga is a gentle, flowing style of yoga that is designed to be practised by people of all abilities, all fitness levels and all age groups. No one is too inflexible, too overweight, too old or too unfit! You don’t have to tie yourself in knots or stand on your head, and you don’t have to be female! Dru Yoga is for everyone and you’ll be surprised how quickly your body becomes more flexible when you practice regularly.
