About Roopini
I am a singer-songwriter & music educator who holds a Masters degree in Music Education from Kingston University in London wherein I was awarded the Music Education Prize for overall academic excellence. My vocal training spans 2 decades of formal instruction in Western Vocals (5+ years), Hindustani Classical (5+ years) and Carnatic Classical (10+ years). Over the last decade, I have had the privilege of performing with renowned artists such as A R Rahman, Jamey Hadad and SNL's Valerie Naranjo. I have performed in several venues across London and India.
As a music educator I have designed music curriculum, led vocal courses, choirs, workshops, authored books for schools and academies across India and UK. My teaching approach blends technicality with creativity, aiming to inspire a deep, lasting connection with music.

In my classes, we begin with breath work and vocal exercises that lay the foundations of a healthy singing voice. We then move to working on your favourite song (be it Western pop, contemporary OR Indian film songs OR a bit of both!) applying the techniques we just practiced. The goal is to help you sing with confidence, nuance, and expression. Drawing from both, Western vocal training and Indian classical foundations, I integrate the strengths of each style into a well-rounded learning experience. These classes are ideal for students aged 16 and above, whether you're pursuing music seriously or simply learning for the joy of it.
