I am offering lessons to students studying A-Levels and below, of any ability and with any particular goals in terms of what results they want to achieve. I often encourage a test-based structure with plenty of explanation and repetition until something is properly engrained by memory, but I also emphasise the importance of prioritising certain key points over minute details.
I am a Classics student at the University of Oxford, and I am used to offering help to students in a variety of subjects. I have been doing this subject for over 3 years (including college) and achieved A*A*A*A. I aspire to be a teacher later on in my career, so I really enjoy seeing other people thrive and do well with their studies. I can also offer help with university applications and personal statements (especially Oxbridge), as well as with English-related subjects.
Cancellation policy: please let me know at least 2 days in advance if you need to cancel, otherwise there will be a cancellation fee of £5.
I am a trustworthy and responsible person, keen to utilise the skills I already have within a position that will benefit both myself and others around me. During my education I have gained many valuable skills to prepare me for my future, such as how to co-operate well in a group, and how to draw the best ideas out of those around me. My undergraduate course in Classics at the University of Oxford has aided me in improving my writing and analytical skills and engaging with material on a deeper level. These skills are widely transferable and will be extremely useful in any career or aspect of education; the knowledge of how to assess a situation and take full advantage of what is given to you is always necessary under a wide range of circumstances, particularly within the academic field. I am very punctual and organised, and can be relied on to do any job to the best of my ability. I believe that my qualifications prove my determination to succeed in everything I do, and I know that I will make the most of every opportunity I am given.

Attendance and punctuality
I have received 100% attendance throughout my last year of high school as well as within college.
The demands of university, especially Oxford, mean I have a series of deadlines that I must consistently meet with work that is to an excellent standard, and so I am able to replicate these time management skills in a variety of high-pressure environments.
My studies, alongside my previous work experience in both a supermarket environment and a restaurant/hotel environment have aided me in being able to efficiently communicate with others to ensure that every target is met quickly and without errors.
Working with Others/Teamwork
As this has been a crucial aspect of my previous jobs, I have been able to develop my teamwork skills to a high degree, and I understand how important teamwork is to getting things done quickly and effectively.
Development of Skills
The fast-paced nature of Oxford teaching and learning shows that I am capable of developing new skills at a quick rate, something easily transferrable to different aspects of life.
Outside of my studies, I have a lot of interests to keep me occupied, such as cycling, playing the piano and reading. These activities allow me to keep my brain active whilst allowing me the time to take a break from academic work, giving me the ability to get work done more efficiently.
During my summer break in 2016, I partook in National Citizen Service, a four-week course throughout which I developed a huge variety of skills, particularly my public speaking skills and sales pitching skills, as well as working well in a team (of which I was elected the director).
I also attended the JACT Classics Summer School in 2017, which allowed me to find new ways to expand on my love of history in ways that did not need to be as academic as my studies themselves.
During the summer of 2019, I took up work in a history museum in the coastal town of Castine, Maine, where I delivered historical tours and looked after the artefacts. As a student of a history-based subject, this was deeply enriching for me.
