About Alan
Maths can be a subject which, if taught badly, can put some one off for life. Having an empathetic teacher who encourages questions, can raise understanding, boost confidence and lead to higher marks
I think teaching maths face-to-face is more effective than on line. I find it easier to explain equations, algebra etc face-to-face and the student finds it easier to understand

My approach is tailored to the needs of the student. From brushing up on a few tricky areas to a more in depth teaching. I am very patient and enjoy seeing students grow in understanding and confidence.
The lesson typically lasts an hour with homework to consolidate the learning.
I offer face-to-face teaching in Mayfield or will travel up to 10 miles.
