About Hannah
I have over five years’ tutoring experience, working with students across different ages, abilities and academic goals, alongside two years teaching full-time in a secondary-school classroom. I’m an Oxford History graduate, Oxford MSc Education graduate, Schwarzman Scholar and qualified secondary teacher (QTS/PGCE), with experience as an examiner. I was also awarded a First-Class mark for my Oxford History dissertation.
Over five years of tutoring has taught me that the best tuition is highly personalised. I take time to understand how each student thinks, where they lack confidence and what is holding them back, then adapt my teaching accordingly. I combine academic rigour with encouragement and particularly enjoy challenging students to go beyond what they think they can do.
I support students with English, History, essay writing and exam preparation, as well as Oxford and Cambridge applications. For Oxbridge applicants, I can provide support with personal statements, extracurricular development and interview preparation, using mock interviews and challenging academic discussions modelled on the tutorial system to build confidence in tackling unfamiliar questions and ideas.
Above all, I want students to become confident, curious and independent learners who trust their own thinking. Whether the goal is a stronger grade, a more sophisticated essay or a competitive university application, I aim to help students fulfil their academic potential while gradually becoming less dependent on a tutor, not more.

My lessons are highly personalised and confidence-building, designed around each student’s individual goals, strengths and areas for development. I prepare each session specifically for the student, combining discussion, clear explanations, targeted written work and constructive feedback. I want students actively thinking, writing and practising, rather than simply listening, with adaptive support.
For Oxbridge applications, sessions are deliberately rigorous and discussion-led, tailored to the student’s subject, academic interests and individual way of thinking. Sessions recreate the intellectual challenge of an Oxford or Cambridge tutorial, using carefully selected material and questions to stretch each student beyond their existing knowledge. The goal is not simply interview preparation, but helping students enjoy intellectual challenge and become confident thinking at the edge of what they know.
