About Louis
I am a finalist reading History at Jesus College, Oxford.
In my degree I have tended to focus upon the Early Modern period, though I have tried to achieve both chronological and geographical coverage.
I am particularly interested in the history of art, though military history is another, alternative area of interest. My thesis, examining depictions of T.E. Lawrence 'of Arabi' combines these interests.

My teaching method depends upon the topic, however, given my interest in art, I think that beginning with analysis of a piece of art can be highly useful both for developing vital analytical skills and for understanding that visual evidence can be just as revealing as written sources. It is also highly useful to find connections between art and contemporary texts.
