About Anushka
Hi, I'm Anushka! I'm an Oxford graduate, linguist and founder of Casa Nushki, an ethical clothing brand that collaborates with artisan communities in Mexico.
Studying French and Spanish completely changed the course of my life. Learning languages has allowed me to live and work in Mexico, collaborate with extraordinary artisans, and build friendships and opportunities that simply wouldn't have existed otherwise.
I believe learning a language is ultimately about connecting with people. Beyond grammar and vocabulary, it teaches curiosity, empathy and the confidence to step into unfamiliar places. In a world that can often feel increasingly divided, I think these are some of the most valuable skills we can develop.
Teaching is my way of sharing that. Whether you're learning for school, travel, work or simply for the love of the language, I hope you'll leave each lesson feeling not only more confident in your Spanish, but more connected to the people and cultures who speak it. Outside teaching, you'll usually find me making something with my hands (clothes, jewellery), singing, reading or writing personal essays about love and politics.

My lessons are one hour long and tailored to each student's goals, whether you're learning Spanish from scratch, preparing for GCSE or A Level, or looking to become a more confident conversational speaker.
I believe language is best learnt through both structure and cultural immersion. We'll build a strong foundation in grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and sentence structure, while exploring the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world through conversation, music, Latin American literature, film and poetry. I studied Latin American literature, film and poetry at Oxford, and I love using these as a way to understand not just the language itself, but the histories, identities and ideas that shape it.
For students preparing for exams, lessons include targeted work on grammar, translation, writing, listening, speaking and exam technique. For those learning for travel, work or personal interest, lessons are more conversational and adapted to your interests.
Having spent part of each year living and working in Mexico for the past four years through my ethical clothing brand, Casa Nushki, I bring real-world Spanish into every lesson. My work with Mexican artisan communities means students are exposed to the language as it is genuinely spoken, alongside the richness and diversity of contemporary Mexican culture.
