I like to teach music with a primary focus on the types of music and artists that the student loves! As obvious as this sounds, it is common for musicology to be taught in a very dry way, or for instruments to be taught with a focus on technique and exercises. Instead, I try to base any technical or academic work in musical examples that the student is keen on engaging with!
I am a musician who specialises in jazz saxophone, but also plays piano, clarinet and organ. I also am reading for a music degree at Oxford University so am happy to help with theory, musicology and university applications!
I have experience teaching children between 7-18 years old in practical lessons, theory tutoring and exam help.
