About Defne
I am a first-year History of Art student studying in the University of Oxford, St. Catherine's College. I have very recently gone through the steps of applying to university and know the system and procedures like the back of my hand. I have needed assistance myself in my journey, and have had good and bad experiences with it. Thus, I know what is productive and what is not, and I am willing to adjust our lessons to the way you would wish to proceed. I applied to the US and the UK, getting acceptances from Brown, UCLA, NYU, Johns Hopkins University, Pratt, University of Michigan, UCL, University of Glasgow, University of Sussex, University of St. Andrews, and University of Oxford.

Online of in-person -- location in Oxford adjustable -- the Beginner English lessons will use books that I found useful at the beginning. No boring homework! Instead, I will assign you music to listen to and movies/series to watch! Then, we will discuss them together. (1-1.5 hour)
Online of in-person -- location in Oxford adjustable -- the Intermediate English lessons will use Times articles and newsletters to encourage critically engaging with material while also building an awareness about the global events! (1-1.5 hour)
Online of in-person -- location in Oxford adjustable -- guidance with university entrance personal statement essays will be 45 minutes per session, and I will be here to give you feedback on drafts, edit, provide you with guidance on doing your research about university and what the right fit is.
