About Siena

My name is Siena and I started playing the recorder aged 7 and have not stopped since. I love teaching because it allows me to share the recorder’s versatility and beauty, helping students develop a strong foundation in music. Whether you’re a beginner starting your musical journey or looking to progress up to Grade 5, I offer supportive and tailored lessons to help you succeed. The recorder is not just a great introduction to wind instruments like the saxophone or clarinet but also a rewarding instrument in its own right. My goal is to make lessons enjoyable, inspiring, and perfectly suited to your learning style.

About the lesson

Hello! I’m Siena, an Oxford University student with a Grade 8 distinction in recorder, offering lessons for beginners and intermediate players both online and in-person in the Oxford area. I specialise in descant and treble recorders, and have experience performing competitively. Why Learn Recorder? The recorder is a wonderful starting instrument, highly recommended for those aiming to progress to more complex wind instruments like the saxophone or clarinet. However, it is also a beautiful and versatile instrument in its own right, with a rich repertoire across many genres. What I Offer: Tailored Lessons: Designed for students of all ages and abilities, up to Grade 5. Comprehensive Teaching: Covering technique, music theory, sight-reading, and performance skills. Flexible Options: Online or in-person lessons to fit your needs. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to refine your skills, I’m here to help you unlock your musical potential. Get in touch today to book your first lesson and begin your recorder journey!

Extremely well prepared and structured lessons, tailored to the needs of the student. My son loved her lessons too, and felt much more confident about taking his GCSE. Was so impressed.
