About James
Hi, I'm JP, a University of Oxford music student offering a range of tuition options in music. I have a deep understanding of many genres of music, having performed and studied music of many genres across the world. My specialities include music theory, musical analysis, performance (Grade 8 singing, piano and violin along with tours in the UK, USA, China etc), and music composition/production. I've been tutoring officially for 2 years, but teaching for around 6 years, including music/drama workshops at local schools and martial arts coaching. I adore music, and hope to share that enthusiasm with all of my students!

I offer focused, engaging tuition tailored to each student’s exam board, current level and individual goals. Whether a student needs to strengthen their foundations or is aiming for the highest grades, I identify their key areas for improvement and build lessons around them.
I can provide support with set works, listening and analysis, music theory and harmony, composition, essay writing and other possible exam questions. Lessons will combine concept teaching, engaging discussion and collaborative work on practice exam Qs, helping students understand the concepts thoroughly and communicate their ideas confidently.
