My first meeting with students consists of talking to them about what they are finding difficult and may need extra support on, I compile a list and set out a plan to cover the majority of the topics over the future lessons. I also discuss with them their preferred learning techniques so i can provide a bespoke service to each student.
I then go away and find relevant resources which I believe will benefit the student and go through the resources in a way that is tailored to their needs.
The first lesson is free of charge, as it is a preliminary lesson, it also gives the student the chance to meet myself and decide if I am the right fit.
I am a Classics student at Oxford University, I have been teaching young people through a Latin and Greek mentoring scheme (upto GCSE) since the age of 16. I have recently begun to tutor some students in A-Level Latin and Greek and indeed myself obtained Full UMS in Latin A-level, (Did not do Ancient Greek at A-Level, but do study it as part of my Undergraduate degree, considered now beyond A-level standard).
