About Florence
I have tutored people in the run up to big public exams: GCSEs, A levels and IB, but also have helped with people who are just looking to improve their grades or experience of education, or to improve their understanding and appreciation of literature, music, languages or sciences. I have loved observing quantifiable improvement in terms of results and moving up a grade boundary, but also think that it is most valuable to improve confidence and enjoyment as much as possible, and indeed that is often inseparable from success.

I have a BA in English and absolutely love literature, but that's not all I do! I took Biology, Music and Chemistry at A Levels too, and find teaching these subjects really fun and satisfying. I play several instruments, but also am happy to guide you through music theory - it's actually become very useful to me! I like to get to know my students in order to tailor to your specific goals and aspirations, and use a variety of methods ranging from memory games to tutorial-style content discussion. I've found that open, interesting conversation can be a great way to learn and feel comfortable with your knowledge, and also think that it's helped me personally to think in new and more varied ways!
