About Max
My name is Max, I myself also struggled with my English grades. However I focused on top band essay answers, in order to increase my scores on examinations. I would like to apply that towards students who also want to achieve their full potential.

offer supportive and structured GCSE English tutoring tailored to each student’s individual needs and exam goals. My sessions focus on building confidence, improving exam technique, and developing the core skills needed for success in both English Language and English Literature.
I begin by identifying each student’s strengths and areas for improvement through discussion and short diagnostic tasks. This helps me understand whether difficulties stem from essay structure, text analysis, comprehension, creative or transactional writing, exam timing, or subject knowledge.
Lessons are carefully adapted to target these gaps and follow a clear, effective structure that combines teaching, guided practice, and independent application. I use exam-style questions, model answers, and personalised feedback to help students develop stronger analytical writing, clearer essay structure, and greater confidence in approaching GCSE papers.
Areas I support with include:
* English Language reading and writing skills
* English Literature essay writing and text analysis
* Understanding themes, characters, and quotations
* Exam technique and time management
* SPaG (spelling, punctuation and grammar)
* Building confidence and independent study skills
