About Christy
Hi! I’m Christy, I’m 19 and I’ve been playing piano for 13 years. I’m currently working towards my Grade 8 exam this October. I’ve always loved music and playing piano is one of my favourite things to do. I really enjoy working with kids and making learning fun and relaxed. I’m patient and easygoing, and I’ve got over two years of experience tutoring Maths to children, which has helped me learn how to explain things clearly. I recently finished my A-levels in Chinese (Cantonese), Maths, Biology, and Further Maths and achieved A*AAB respectively, and I’ve always had a big interest in both Maths and Biology.

I specialise in teaching young children who are just starting piano, usually up to Grade 3 level. Lessons are fun and interactive, focusing on building strong foundations in rhythm, note reading, and technique through simple songs, games, and creative activities. I aim to keep children engaged and confident as they learn. Lessons are typically 30 minutes long to suit younger attention spans. I offer lessons either at my home or at your home in the Barnet or Finchley area. I'm DBS checked! I hold a Grade 6 ABRSM piano qualification and I'm currently preparing for my Grade 8 exam in October. I can teach in either English or Cantonese!
