I am a very friendly, responsible and compassionate person. I take my work seriously with a generous sprinkling of fun and find it very satisfying and meaningful to help students understand topics that may frustrate or confuse them. When I'm not studying, I love to read, play guitar and train in karate.

When tutoring French, I love to connect to the student and help them to find their passion for the language. The great advantage in language learning is that the subject matter can be anything the student is interested in - the language is simply a new medium with which to gain new knowledge and unlock new cultures. As such, an important part of the lesson will be informed by the student's interests - whether that be looking at recipes, talking about the latest soccer matches or researching ancient mythology in French. In addition to this critical language exposure, we spend significant time honing the academic skills of essay writing and answering comprehensions. We look at points of grammar and relevant lists of vocabulary that need smoothing over. It is easy to introduce fun and novelty into language-learning lessons and I take pride in my ability to do so, for instance in playing games like 30 seconds in French or tapping into the latest French musical releases.
