About Will
Hi!
My name is Will Clarkson and I am currently on a Gap Year before studying Medicine at Leeds University. I like many students, have had some experience on the other end of tutoring and this recent incite into being the tutee has helped shape the way I approach each student uniquely and provide a useful learning experience.
I achieved 10 A* at GCSE and 2 A's and an A* at A-level, providing me with the academic basis on which I can give an informative lesson both in subject content and other areas such as exam technique. My experience of medical school interviews, of which I gained 3/4 places at University, helped me realise how intense some teaching can be (especially tutoring) and how tutoring can feel like an interview putting students on edge. Having just come out of school I find the smaller disparity in age between tutor and tutee helps put students at ease and makes them comfortable and so able to learn in a relaxed environment.

I approach each student with a fresh approach as no two students learn in exactly the same way. I do however start out with a tried and tested method that allows me to gauge where the student currently sits, in terms of topics covered and knowledge of said topics, and so from there I can formulate a plan to effectively teach and cover all areas that need to be improved.
