My name is Alexa Jacobo, and I recently earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University. I believe every student can succeed in math with the right support, encouragement, and teaching strategies. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence.
My lessons are personalized to each student's needs and learning pace. I begin by reviewing previous knowledge, explaining new concepts step by step, working through examples together, and then giving students the opportunity to practice independently while I provide guidance and feedback. I also use real-life examples and interactive activities to make math meaningful and engaging.
What sets me apart is my patience, positive attitude, and experience working with students of different learning levels during my student teaching and classroom experiences. I focus on helping students understand the "why" behind math instead of simply memorizing procedures, so they develop lasting skills and confidence.
My lessons are ideal for elementary and middle school students who need extra support, want to improve their grades, prepare for quizzes and exams, or simply build a stronger foundation in mathematics. Whether a student is struggling with basic concepts or wants to get ahead, I am committed to helping them reach their goals.
