About Solana
Music has given me an outlet for personal expression throughout my life which I am beyond grateful for. My goal is to inspire others and introduce this special area of expression to elevate life. I’m a classically trained violinist with a passion for helping students let music elevate their life and bring them joy. I’ve completed my Grade 10 and ARCT (Performance & Theory) exams through the Royal Conservatory of Music, and am trained in Suzuki Book 1 teaching. My performance background spans orchestra, chamber, fiddle, and solo giving me an expanded array of experience.

I provide a Suzuki method approach to teaching with focus on building strong basic foundational skills and learning essential pieces, scales, and studies, then progress to more complex skills and freedom for students to choose repertoire with my guidance. I value encouragement in teaching while getting to know my students personally and help them find and embrace the beauty of music. I provide encouragement with corrections, as well as promote self correction for at home practice, and practice exercises for home.

Perfect! I had my first lesson with Solana and thought she was a great instructor! She was very friendly and easy to talk to - and gave me good guidance with starting off with the violin. She also recommended me some great exercises to practice myself - would recommend!
