Once someone understands what they are saying the language becomes an easy form of communication. Some teachers just dash random words at students giving out what they equal to in English without actually worrying about what the student’s perception of the word is. Spanish is a much more complex language a word might have its exact translation in English however it doesn’t mean they can be used exactly the same way or that they mean the exact same. Therefore understanding word for word and how it would be used when speaking Spanish, will be crucial in my lessons. Once we have covered the understanding and knowledge section and the student has the ability to make sentences and speak on their own. We would then concentrate on the fluidity and accent so the words sound accurately , this normally takes less time depending on the student’s ability to mimic sounds.
I was born and raised in Valencia, Spain and I then moved to London at just the age of 11. Consequently as I arrived at a young age my parents and I decided to get all the qualifications for it wether it was GCSE or A level in order to either extend my knowledge in terms of words or to keep my native language vibrant. As after time it becomes easy to forget when you’re in a foreign country where the main language is completely different. I then want to help other students who just want to learn a new language or just want to extend the knowledge they already have.
