About Ashlyn
I am a friendly, patient and approachable person who genuinely enjoys working with children and young people. I want to tutor because I find it really rewarding to help students overcome areas they find difficult and see their confidence grow as they make progress. I understand that every student learns differently, so I aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I want my lessons to be both productive and enjoyable, helping students develop their skills while becoming more confident and independent learners.

Qualifications and experience:
- I achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE English Literature, achieving (concealed information) (A*-A) across my GCSEs at a highly selective grammar school in London. I have also achieved strong A-level results in Psychology, Biology and Chemistry.
- I have extensive experience working with and supporting younger students. I have mentored younger pupils at my school, supported primary school pupils at Fern Hill Primary School in Kingston with English and Maths, and led Chemistry Club sessions for KS3 students at my school. I also volunteered at Strathmore School, supporting children with severe and complex learning difficulties, which developed my patience and ability to adapt my communication to individual needs.
- I can support students with English up to KS3 level including SAT preparation and 11+ exam preparation. I can help with reading, comprehension, creative & essay writing, spelling and grammar, while adapting lessons to suit each student's individual needs.
- I also have a range of 11+ and English resources, including practice questions and exercises, which I can use to supplement lessons and provide students with targeted practice between sessions.
