About John
Hi, I’m John Ugboaja
I’m a Mathematics tutor with B.Ed in Mathematics Education + M.Sc in Mathematics from NOUN, Nigeria. I’ve been teaching for 10+ years, both online and in-person.
Who I teach:
JSS, WAEC/NECO, IGCSE, A-Level, and University 100L students following Nigerian, UK, and US curriculums. Whether you’re preparing for Cambridge IGCSE, Edexcel A-Level, or struggling with Calculus in 100L, I’ve got you.
Why I teach Math:
Many students think Math is “hard” just because it was explained badly. My mission is to change that.
I break complex topics into simple, logical steps so Math finally makes sense. When students understand the “why”, grades follow naturally. My experience:
I’ve helped WAEC students move from C6/D7 to A1/B3. I’ve prepared IGCSE/A-Level students for grade 8/9 and A grades using past papers + examiner techniques. My students call me “the tutor that makes algebra simple” because I use real-life examples instead of just formulas.
My style:
Patient. Clear. No judgment. Ask me the same question 5 times - I’ll explain 5 different ways till it clicks.

Every student learns Math differently.
My lessons are interactive, step-by-step, and focused on understanding over memorization.
We use a digital whiteboard + Zoom/Google Meet so you can see every working clearly. Notes and practice questions are shared after each class for revision. For IGCSE & A-Level Students:
UK curriculum = application + examiner technique. We focus on: How to structure answers for full marks using marking schemes Timed past paper practice - Cambridge, Edexcel, AQA Breaking “hard topics” like Calculus, Trigonometry, Algebra into simple steps
Goal: Move from grade 6 to 8/9, or from C to A grade. For University 100L Students:
Struggling with Calculus, Statistics, Linear Algebra? I connect formulas to real problems in Engineering, Economics, and Sciences. No “copy formulas” - we build intuition so you can solve new questions in exams.
For JSS & WAEC Students:
We target weak areas first. Algebra, Word Problems, and Trigonometry are broken down with real-life examples. Every lesson = concept + WAEC/NECO past questions practice. Goal: C6/D7 to A1/B3. Lesson Structure - 60 minutes:
10 mins: Review homework + clear doubts 40 mins: New topic explained simply + guided practice 10 mins: Quick test + exam tips + notes Why students choose me:
